Cars broken into at Professional Home Health Care in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Rick Cloyd is investigating thefts that occurred at the Professional Home Health Care parking lot located on US 25, approximately 5 miles south of London on November 20th, 2015.

On Monday, December 7, 2015, this surveillance photo shows a woman attempting to cash a stolen check at a bank in London, the check was from the thefts on November 20th.

The thefts were noticed at about 5:30 P.M. Apparently, unknown subjects broke into 2 different vehicles that were parked in the parking lot by breaking out the side window of each vehicle to force entry. Ladies purses that were in plain view in the vehicles were stolen. A black colored Ford SUV is believed to be involved.

Additionally, the Knox County Sheriff's Office investigated a similar crime in Knox County at Lynn Camp High School Parking lot with 5 vehicles broken into on the same date, with similar circumstances.

On Monday, December 7, 2015, a woman attempted to cash a stolen check at a bank in London from one of the stolen purses from the thefts on November 20th. The bank has an excellent surveillance photo of that suspect and the vehicle she was driving and it is attached to this report. The vehicle is described as a white colored 2014 or 2015 GMC terrain SUV.

Sheriff Root stresses the importance of placing purses and other valuables in the trunk or out of sight of would be thieves during this time of the year and always.
