Curry Road altercation will be presented to Laurel County Grand Jury

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Kevin Berry along with Sgt. Robbie Grimes and Deputy Rick Cloyd are investigating an altercation which resulted in one individual being stabbed by a knife, and another individual being hit over the head with a wooden object.

Deputies received a complaint from Laurel 911 Dispatch Center reporting that an individual had been stabbed with a knife off Curry Road, approximately 10 miles east of London on Friday evening January 8, 2016 at approximately 5:34 PM.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that apparently an argument had occurred at Brent Napier's residence between Brent Napier and his brother Brian Napier, who lived elsewhere.

Allegedly, Brent Napier was hit over the head with a wooden object by his brother. Brian Napier was allegedly stabbed with a folding knife by his brother.

Loretta Napier, mother of the two men was present during the altercation and tried to intervene but was unsuccessful.

Brian Napier was transported by private vehicle to Manchester Memorial Hospital and later transferred to UK hospital for treatment of knife stab wounds.

Brent Napier was treated at his residence by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County.

A knife has been recovered.

Detective Kevin Berry will be continuing the investigation and will be making a case presentation before the next term of the Laurel County Grand Jury.
