Shoplifting and P.I. arrest in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Brandon Broughton arrested Francis Zadrozny, age 41, Galaxy Drive, Trosper, KY., on Monday night, January 11, 2016, at approximately 9:10 P.M.

The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject. When Deputy Broughton arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed concealing items and attempted to leave the store without paying for all the items she had in her possession at a self checkout. Total value of the theft was over $77. Items taken included haircolor, a journal, panties, pepper steak, bracelets, Pepsi and Mountain Dew, flashlights and numerous other items.

Francis Zadrozny was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and public intoxication – controlled substances – this subject was determined to be under the influence and stated that she had taken Suboxone and Neurontin earlier in the day.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of possession of marijuana, reckless driving, and driving on DUI suspended license. Also, this subject was charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding charges of operating on suspended or revoked operators license and other traffic violations.
