LONDON, KY — On Wednesday, January 13th, 2016, London Police Ofc. Justin Roby responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wal-Mart located on HWY. 192, and arrested an intoxicated female.
Tim Atwood of Wal-Mart’s Loss Prevention had the female, 25-year-old Miranda K. Baker, of London, in custody when Roby arrived. Roby stated that Baker emitted a strong odor of marijuana and while being questioned, she revealed a clear plastic baggy containing marijuana in it. Also found to be in her possession were three Neurontin’s and one Hydrocodone pill.
“She had slurred speech and white pill residue on her lips,” Roby said.
Baker stated that the Neurontin was hers but the Hydrocodone was not.
She was arrested and charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance excluding alcohol, theft by unlawful taking or dispensary shoplifting under $500, first degree possession of a controlled substance (opiates), and possession of marijuana. Baker was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
