Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Austin Coffer, age 25, of Indianapolis, Indiana, on Friday night, January 15, 2016, at approximately 11:59 PM.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after deputies were dispatched to a complaint from Walmart stating there was a subject in the store acting suspicious.
When Sgt. Parrott arrived at the scene, located this subject, and conducted an investigation, he determined that this subject was under the influence of methamphetamine – this subject admitted to smoking it.
Deputies had previously received a complaint on this subject from another area business, but had been unable to locate him. Austin Coffer was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
