LONDON KY — On Sunday, Jan. 31st at 7:15 p.m. London Police received a complaint through London Laurel Dispatch about an intoxicated male and female at Waffle House located on west Hwy. 80. The intoxicated individuals were reportedly knocking stuff over and passing out, and had three small children with them.
When Officers Justin Hopkins and Drew Wilson arrived at Waffle House, William L. Allen, 33, and Amanda N. Porter, 32, of London were located.
Officers stated that Porter was manifestly under the influence of an unknown substance, had slurred speech, dilated pupils, unsteady on her feet, and had difficulty explaining the situation to police and that Allen was falling asleep while holding eating utensils, had severe slurred speech, unsteady on his feet, and was manifestly under the influence.
Porter said that she drove Allen and three children to Waffle House, although officers did not observe her operating a motor vehicle. She stated that she had ingested Suboxone.
Allen said that he was prescribed Klonipin and Suboxone. Officers located two handguns hidden on Allen, and he did not have a concealed weapons license.
Allen and Porter were arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Allen was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance excluding alcohol, second degree wanton endangerment, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Porter was charged with public intoxication of a controlled substance excluding alcohol and second degree wanton endangerment.
