Five guilty pleas in Federal Court on LSO drug cases

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that five persons have pled guilty in United States District Court in London on drug investigations initiated by Laurel County Sheriff's office Detective Jason back and Detective James Sizemore, then in cooperation with D. E. A. prosecuted the arrests in federal court.

Defendants convicted in federal court must spend 85% of their sentence incarcerated.

The five individuals are identified as:

  • Billy Smith pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and received a sentence of six months imprisonment and upon release from imprisonment shall be on a three-year supervised release.
  • Eugene Moore pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and received a sentence of 192 months imprisonment and upon release from imprisonment shall be on a six years supervised release.
  • Jarrod Cupp pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and received a sentence of 52 months imprisonment and upon release from imprisonment be on a supervised release of five years.
  • Jessica Warfield pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine, a schedule 2 controlled substance and received a sentence of 70 months imprisonment and upon release from imprisonment be on a 10 year supervised release.
  • Michael Bruner pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine and was sentenced to 168 months imprisonment and upon release from imprisonment shall be on a supervised release for a term of three years.
