KSP - Injury Collision in Knox County

(Bimble, Ky.) – On February 9, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call about a two vehicle collision on U.S.25E in the Bimble community of Knox County.

Troopers from Post 10 responded to the collision and began an investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2004 Jeep Cherokee driven by Jerry Caldwell, 59, of Pathfork was traveling north in the south bound lanes of U.S.25E. Mr. Caldwell struck a 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by Diane McCann, 48, of Rutledge Tn. Mrs. McCann was traveling south on U.S.25E.

Both drivers were transported to Knox County ARH for the injuries they sustained. Mrs. McCann was later released from the hospital for minor injuries. Mr. Caldwell was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for his injuries.

Alcohol is suspected with the driver of the Cherokee and charges are pending.

The collision is still under investigation by Tpr. Jay Sowders.
