Beloved Horse Creek business woman Sylvia Sibert passes away

Horse Creek, KY - Sylvia Sibert, who along with her husband Carl have operated Sibert's Grocery in the Horse Creek area of Clay County for over two decades passed away at age 73 on Saturday February 20th, 2016 at her home.

One Sibert's Grocery customer remarked:

"Sylvia and Carl treated all us the same, if you didn't have enough money to get what you needed, they would trust your promise to come back and pay and everybody did just that, in most other stores you had to put your stuff back if you couldn't pay. Silvia will be missed by everybody."

Sylvia is survived by her husband Carl Sibert, Horse Creek, and one son Franklin Sibert, Lexington, KY.

She is also survived by one brother Willie Jarvis, and four sisters: Mable Gilwineath, Rosetta Rogers, Ruby Brock, and Louise Jarvis, a special cousin Johnny Jarvis, and special friends Cindy Hill and Gladys France.

She is preceded in death by her parents Tommy and Margaret Jarvis, her son Troy Jarvis, her father in law Burton Sibert, mother in law Louvina Sibert, and three brothers: Tommy Jr. Jarvis, Vernon Jarvis, and Carl Jarvis.

The funeral service will be held 1 PM Tuesday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel with Don Hubbard, James Wagers, Dudley Lynch, and Rick Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Herd Cemetery at Horse Creek.

Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at the Britton Funeral Home Chapel.
