(LONDON, KY.) – Troopers from Post 11 are currently searching for a wanted fugitive that fled on foot after being stopped for speeding on the Hal Rogers Parkway Wednesday morning, February 2, 2016 in the Bush Community of Laurel County.
The suspect, Andrew A. Reeves, 27, of Nicholasville, KY was stopped at approximately 10:45 AM, operating a stolen 2016 Toyota Rav 4. Shortly after the stop Reeves got out of his vehicle and fled into a wooded area. His identity was discovered a short time later and Troopers learned the suspect was a wanted fugitive for parole violations
An immediate broadcast was made and numerous police units responded to the scene and are still currently searching the area.
** UPDATE **
At approximately 3:30 PM today, Troopers located Reeves hiding inside an abandoned residence located on Lick Fork Road in close proximity to the wooded area he fled into.
Reeves, was arrested and charged with: Being a Fugitive, Fleeing Evading Police, two counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Receiving Stolen Property and numerous other traffic charges. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Trooper Jack Riley is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11.
