Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Lieut. Greg Poynter arrested a female subject of Lick Branch Road, Flat Lick, KY, on Friday afternoon, March 4, 2016, at approximately 2:57 PM.
Arrested was Brittany Gambriel, age 22. The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject. When Lieut. Poynter arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed attempting to remove unpaid merchandise from the store.
In addition, this subject was determined to be under the influence – this subject stated she had been taking medication. Brittany Gambriel was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and public intoxication – controlled substances and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
