DUI arrest at crash on West Laurel Road


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston along with Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested a male subject of O. Johnson Rd., London, early Sunday morning, March 13, 2016, at approximately 3:03 A.M.

Arrested was Marvin May, age 58.  Deputies were dispatched to a non-injury traffic crash off West Laurel Rd. behind the Dollar General store. When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, they learned that this subject had allegedly been driving a black Ford Fusion there.

Deputies detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from this subject and a female passenger. Investigation determined that both were under the influence.

Marvin May was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited; and other traffic violations. Marvin May was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

A female passenger in the vehicle identified as Deidre Clark, age 51, of Short Creek Rd., Hyden, complained of possible back injuries and was transported by EMS to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment. This subject was cited for alcohol intoxication in a public place and given a court date in Laurel District Court.
