Complaint in Corbin Leads to Five Arrests

Corbin, KY - Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting that on March 15, 1:30 am Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to complaint of a man being held at gunpoint at a residence on Hancock Avenue in Corbin.

When Deputy Ashurst arrived there were seven individuals inside the trailer. After conducting an inquiry, Deputy Ashurst arrested four of the individuals.

A quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, used “Crack” type pipes and several syringes were also seized.

The individuals arrested were:

Ross Helton age 29 of Corbin, KY charged with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Anthony R Skaggs age 29 of Gray, KY charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Skaggs was also wanted on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay fines on Inadequate Silencer, Failure to produce Insurance Card and License to be in Possession charges.

Wiley Medlin age 30 of Gray, KY charged with Giving Officer False Name. Medlin was also wanted on a Laurel County Bench Warrant for failure to pay fines on Improper Turning, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle and No registration Receipt.

Richard Edwards age 34 of Corbin, KY was wanted on a Pulaski County Arrest Warrant for Flagrant Non-Support.

Krystal Rose age 30 of Corbin, KY was arrested by Corbin Police Officers Wade Mitchell and Glen Taylor on two Knox County Bench Warrants for failure to pay fines on unrelated charges.

All five people were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
