DUI arrest at traffic crash on KY 229 in Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray along with Bailiff Robert Reed arrested a female subject of KY 1304, Barbourville, on Monday afternoon, March 21, 2016, at approximately 4:15 PM.

Arrested was Rebekah Singleton, age 36.  The arrest occurred on Barbourville Road, approximately 6 miles south of London after this subject was involved in a non-injury traffic crash while driving a blue colored Chevrolet Cobalt. The driver stated a dog ran out in front of her as she drove toward London.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver and following an investigation, they determined that this driver was under the influence. This subject stated she had been drinking the night before and had taken hydrocodone earlier today.

Rebekah Singleton was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; careless driving; and other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
