KSP Charges Fayette County Man with Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

(Lexington, Ky.)— On March 24, 2016, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by Post-12 Frankfort, arrested Justin L. Cole, 24, for charges related to prohibited use of electronic communication system to procure a minor (re: sex offenses).\

Mr. Cole was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect communicating with a minor on a popular social networking site.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Mr. Cole’s residence on March 24, 2016. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination; the investigation is ongoing. Mr. Cole is currently charged with one (1) count of prohibited use of electronic communication system to procure a minor re: sex offenses.

Mr. Cole was arrested and lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center. The charge is a Class-D Felony punishable 1-5 years in prison.
