KSP Investigates Head-On Injury Collision in Garrard County

(Lancaster, KY) — The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, is investigating an injury collision that happened approximately 4 miles north of Lancaster on HWY 27, just before 4:30 PM Thursday afternoon.

The initial investigation indicates that a Toyota pickup truck was travelling north on HWY 27, and crossed the centerline of the roadway after losing control in a curve, striking a Toyota 4-Runner head on.

All three juvenile occupants in the Toyota truck were transported to UK Medical Center, and the driver of the 4-Runner was taken to Ephraim McDowell Hospital, all with non-life threatening injuries.

Weather may be a contributing factor in the collision, and alcohol is not suspected.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Josh Chenault. He was assisted on the scene by KSP Personnel, Garrard County EMS, and Garrard County Fire & Rescue.
