Clay County man charged with being a Fugitive from Indiana captured after fleeing police in Laurel County


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective/US Marshal Warrant Task Force Officer Jason Back along with Laurel County Sheriff’s Detective/US Marshal Warrant Task Force Officer James Sizemore arrested a Clay County man on Tuesday morning April 5, 2016 at approximately 11:10 AM.

Arrested was Joseph Cain age 44 of Tiberland Road, Manchester, KY.

Joseph Cain was being sought on fugitive charges and on theft charges. When the subject was located, he attempted to flee on foot but was captured following a short foot chase.

Joseph Cain was charged with being a Fugitive from Indiana wanted on felony charges. In addition this subject was charged with Fleeing or Evading Police – first-degree – on foot; Resisting Arrest; and Theft by Unlawful Taking $10,000 or more but under $1 million.

This subject was also wanted regarding a worthless check he wrote for $7200 to an auction house in Laurel County and had allegedly stolen a ring valued at $3500 as well.

Joseph Cain was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
