Complaint of a burglary leads to arrest by LSO deputies



Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Shannon Jones along with Deputy Jamie Grimes arrested  an individual wanted on numerous bench warrants early Friday morning April 8, 2016 at approximately 12:30 AM.

Arrested was Kenya Tia Bruner age 22 of Hopper Creek Road, London, KY.

The arrest occurred off Mullins Road approximately 7 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a burglary that occurred at a residence there.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that clothes, a baby swing, and other baby items had been taken from a residence. Deputies also learned that a neighbor nearby had also had a burglary at their residence.

Deputies developed the name of a possible suspect and during the investigation deputies developed information on where items from the burglaries was located, and the items were found.

Kenya Tia Bruner was charged with two counts of burglary - second-degree.

In addition, the subject was wanted on numerous bench warrants of arrest: a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of disorderly conduct – second-degree and public intoxication – controlled substances; a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting; a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court for a pretrial conference on charges of criminal mischief – third-degree and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle – first offense.

Also the subject was charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of public intoxication – controlled substances.

Kenya Tia Bruner was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
