Clay County, KY - A Saddler Branch resident doing her first mowing for the 2016 season is now dead as the result of a tragic accident.
On Thursday, April 14, 2016 Mrs. Oma Mae Byrd, age 63 of Saddler Road apparently lost control of her John Deere riding mower and rolled over a small embankment where the tractor came to rest in a creek next to the roadway.
Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene by Clay County Coroner Danny Finley
