(Stanton, KY) - On Wednesday, April 20th, 2016 at 9:03 P.M., Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a call from Powell County Dispatch stating that there had been a deadly shooting at 606 Cow Creek Road, in Stanton, Kentucky.
A preliminary investigation has shown that Melissa Roberts, 32 of Stanton, was confronted by Steven Strange, 39 of Stanton, while she was inside of her residence, resulting in Mr. Strange being shot in the chest with a 12 gauge shotgun.
Steven Strange was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Powell County Coroner. Next of kin has been notified.
The shooting remains under investigation by Detective Toby Gardner.
