Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Darryl White age 52 of Rodeo Dr., Corbin on Saturday afternoon April 23, 2016 at approximately 5:40 PM.
The arrest occurred on Oak Ridge Church road, approximately 9 miles south London after Deputy Cloyd was dispatched to a complaint that a subject was passed out in a blue colored Ford F-150 after driving off into a ditch and blowing a tire.
When Deputy Cloyd arrived at the scene the subject was still in the driver seat and the odor of alcoholic beverages was emitting from his breath. Deputy Cloyd noted that this subject was so intoxicated he could not stand to do field sobriety tests.
When asked what his name was he used curse words only. When asked for his Social Security number he said it was BR 549. This subject threatened several times to shoot Deputy Cloyd in the head. Deputy Cloyd was finally able to get driver information from this subject.
While being processed at the dispatch center for a breath sample this subject refused by using curse words only again. This subject was then transported to the sheriff's office to be processed and became combative there shoving Deputy Cloyd back into a desk. Following a short scuffle this subject was brought under control.
This subject continued to threaten Deputy Cloyd with busting a cap on him when he gets out of jail or have one of his 10 brothers take out Deputy Cloyd's whole family or maybe from a bullet far away.
Darryl White was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; license to be in possession; operating on suspended or revoked operators license; terroristic threatening – 3rd degree; giving officer false name or address; and assault – third degree – police officers is victim.
In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking.
This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
