Subject charged on numerous violations by LSO after allegedly causing Jackson Energy transformers to blow and a major power loss in the area


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott along with Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Prudie Jones 49  of Wyatt Road, London on Monday night May 2, 2016 at approximately 11:15 PM.

The arrest occurred on Keavy Road, approximately 4 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash where this subject was allegedly driving a gray colored Chevrolet S-10 pickup that ran off the road and struck a utility pole owned by Jackson Energy causing transformers to blow and a major power loss in that area.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they determined that this subject was under the influence. This subject admitted to taking Percocet and deputies found her in possession of two needles.

Prudie Jones was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; reckless driving; driving too fast for traffic conditions; failure to wear seatbelt; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Assisting at the scene was: Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, Laurel County Volunteer Fire Department, and Jackson Energy officials.
