Three individuals arrested at Laurel County judicial center on drug related charges

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective James Sizemore and Deputy John Inman arrested three individuals at the Laurel County judicial center complex in London on Tuesday afternoon, May 10, 2016, at approximately 12:01 PM.

The arrests occurred after court security officers CSO Josh Morgan, CSO Jerry Poynter, and CSO James Alewine detected a drug transfer that occurred as three subjects tried to enter the judicial center.

A female subject - Marcia Drury - allegedly hid Suboxone strips in her undergarments while entering the judicial center where she was expected to receive jail time on an unrelated case. The Suboxone strips were allegedly given to her by her husband - Charles Drury - who had allegedly gotten them from Carol Keith, Marcia Drury's mother who was also present.

Charles Drury was seen on camera at the court house discarding paper associated with the transfer of drugs. Detective Sizemore determined that Carol Keith had received 90 Suboxone strips on May 3, 2016, and only had 3 1/2 strips left on May 10, 2016.  In addition, Carol Keith was determined to be under the influence.

Arrested was Marcia Drury, age 37, of Valentine Branch Rd., Girdler, KY, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – second degree – first offense; public intoxication – controlled substances; and tampering with physical evidence.

Second arrested was her husband, Charles Drury, age 36, of Twin Oak Ln., Corbin, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – second degree – first offense; and criminal littering. This subject was also charged on a Bell County Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card and persistent felony offender II.

This subject was also charged on a Bell County District Court bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument – third-degree and contempt of court.

Also arrested was Marcia Drury's mother, Carol Keith, age 53, of Twin Oak Ln., Corbin, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – second degree – first offense and public intoxication - controlled substances.
