What a Clay County woman told LSO Deputy after traffic stop


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested a Clay County woman early Saturday morning May 21, 2016 at approximately 1:01 AM.

Arrested was Beverly Benge age 45 of Ephram Creek Road, Manchester. The arrest occurred on US 25 approximately 7 miles south London after a red colored Chevrolet Silverado pulled out in front of Sgt. Parrott who was on routine patrol. Sgt. Parrott observed the vehicle weaving on the roadway and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Sgt. Parrott detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the vehicle and conducted an investigation on the driver determining that she was under the influence – the driver stated she had drank one Long Island Tea and taken prescription Suboxone.

Beverly Benge was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense.

Beverly Benge was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
