Manchester man charged with DUI and other traffic violations

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Rick Cloyd was dispatched to a single vehicle DUI involved motorcycle accident which occurred on Johnson Road, approximately 9 miles east of London after a male subject allegedly riding a dirt bike there wrecked on Sunday night May 22, 2016 at approximately 8:00 PM.

When Deputy Cloyd arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation the subject told Deputy Cloyd that he had wrecked and the reason he had wrecked was that he was drunk.

The subject was transported to a local hospital by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County for treatment of injuries allegedly sustained in the traffic crash.

Deputy Cloyd identified Jeremy Westerfield age 27 of Westerfield Ln., Manchester as the driver of the dirt bike charging him with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; operating ATV on roadway; no motorcycle operators license; and other traffic violations.

This subject was not lodged due to being transported to the local hospital with injuries from the traffic crash. He was assigned a court date in June.
