KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Madison County

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that happened just before 1:30 pm Saturday afternoon on Barnes Mill Road, west of Richmond in Madison County

The initial investigation indicates that Dorothy Stewart, 41 years old of Berea, was driving a 2009 Saturn west on Barnes Mill Road and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle crossed the oncoming lane of traffic and drove off the left side of the roadway, before overturning multiple times.

Dorothy Stewart sustained fatal injuries in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Madison County Coroner.

Two other occupants, Quincy Dean, 22 years old of Richmond and William Anderson, 26 years old of Richmond were injured in the collision and transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital .

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Darrell Hutchison. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Madison County EMS, Madison County Rescue Squad, Kirksville Fire Department, Madison County Fire Department, and the Madison County Coroner.
