Domestic Violence arrest by LSO

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy John Inman along with Deputy Craig Sutton and Cpl. Jack Caudill arrested Randy Joe Couch age 43 of Laurel Branch Rd., East Bernstadt on Friday morning June 24, 2016 at approximately 9:48 AM.

The arrest occurred off Winding Blade road, approximately 10 miles north of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that this subject had apparently assaulted his girlfriend who is allegedly 38 weeks pregnant with his child, and while her two-year-old daughter was present in the residence and in the room where the alleged assault occurred.

This subject then left the scene in his silver Chevrolet pickup and was located by deputies several miles away leaving the scene of the assault with his brother.

Deputies conducted an investigation at the scene and learned that this subject had allegedly been involved in a dispute with his girlfriend when he allegedly picked his girlfriend up and slung her on the couch with his hands on her throat. He then apparently went outside looking for his phone and when he couldn't find it kicked the front door in -- then left the scene with his brother.

Deputies noted visible marks on the victim's throat and a cut to her right hand.

Randy Joe Couch was charged with assault – fourth degree – domestic violence and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
