Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy John Inman along with Sheriff John Root, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter, and Detective Kevin Berry arrested Walter Christopher Nicholson age 39 of Bill George Rd., London on Friday afternoon July 8, 2016 at approximately 1:31 PM.
The arrest occurred off Bill George Road, approximately 1 mile east of London after deputies were dispatched to a domestic altercation where deputies had responded to previously.
When deputies arrived at the scene they learned that apparently this subject could not be located earlier. Deputies learned that this subject's grandmother who owned the residence had left her own home overnight and had tried to return home only to find that her residence had been barricaded from the inside at all entry points allegedly by this subject.
Deputies also learned through investigation that there were outstanding warrants on this subject.
With permission from the grandmother, deputies made entry through a carport doorway, searched the home and found this individual in the back bedroom.
Upon being arrested, this subject resisted but was taken into custody.
Walter Christopher Nicholson was charged with assault – 4th degree; and resisting arrest. In addition, this subject was charged on a bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court.
This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
