Driver & passenger taken to Barbourville ARH after crash - Knox County

Knox County, KY - The Knox county Sheriff's Department is reporting that on August 10, 2016 Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on KY 225 in Trosper.

Through his investigation, Deputy Ashurst determined the vehicle, a white 2005 Nissan SUV was traveling north on KY 225 when it crossed the south bound lane continuing over an embankment into a wooded area.

The driver, Brian K. Simpson age 47 of Artemus, KY was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A female passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The driver and the female passenger were both taken by ambulance to the Barbourville ARH.

The Knox County Rescue Squad and the Artemus Fire Department responded to the scene and assisted Deputy Ashurst and Knox Ems.
