Equipment Violation traffic stop leads to 4 arrests north of London

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Jason Back and Detective James Sizemore arrested 4 individuals off Little Pittsburgh Road, approximately 2 miles north of London on Thursday afternoon September 1, 2016 at approximately 1:04 PM.

The arrests occurred after detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had an equipment violation and found an occupant in the vehicle in possession of a crystal substance and a concealed firearm in his possession.

Arrested was:

  • Kermit Bruner age 34 of 3rd St., London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon.
  • As detectives continued their investigation, they learned that the crystal meth the occupant of the car had in his possession came from a residence within sight of the traffic stop.

    Detectives located a male subject and two female subjects there in possession of crystal meth, numerous plastic bags with corners cut out, non-cut bags, and digital scales.

    All three individuals were arrested and are identified as:

  • Donnie Simpson age 60 of Little Pittsburgh Rd., London charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine.
  • Lisa Johnson age 47 of Twin Branch Road, London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine.
  • Lisa Downs age 52 of Murray Cemetery Road, East Bernstadt charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine.
  • All four individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Sgt. Brett Reeves assisted on the case.
