Drug related arrests in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Shawn Jackson and Constable Chris Webb arrested three individuals early Wednesday morning September 14, 2016 at approximately 4:21 AM.

The arrests occurred off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy. in a business parking lot after officers observed a tan colored Chevrolet Malibu pulling into the business parking lot off West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 10 miles south of London and upon seeing officers this vehicle made an abrupt left turn in an apparent attempt to not be noticed.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was determined to be under the influence – he admitted to smoking marijuana and taking Neurotin earlier.

Arrested was:

  • The driver -  Loren Johnson age 59 of Cane Creek Rd., Williamsburg charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; failure to wear seatbelts; careless driving; failure to signal; and improper equipment. In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear on charges of possession of a controlled substance – second-degree and public intoxication – controlled substances. In addition, this subject was charged on a second Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on a traffic charge.
  • Angel McCulley age 33 Of Wyatt Rd., London charged with public intoxication – controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia – this subject was a passenger in the vehicle and was determined to be under the influence and stated that she had been shooting up crystal meth and Suboxone just an hour earlier. This subject had two syringes with needles in her possession, one that was not capped with a needle exposed and stated that these were the needles that she had shot up with earlier.
  • Natasha Boone age 30 Of Copley Rd., Lily charged with public intoxication – controlled substances. This subject was determined to be under the influence.
  • All three individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
