OSP ARRESTS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS EMPLOYEE FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION - WASHINGTON COUNTY


Wilsonville, OR - In February of 2016, the Oregon State Police was notified by the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) of potential misconduct by one of their staff members at the Coffee Creek Correctional Center in Wilsonville.

DOC advised OSP they had received information that a corrections officer, Edgar MICKLES, age 50, had engaged in potential criminal conduct.

OSP Detectives began an investigation into the allegations brought forward by DOC. MICKLES was arrested on October 12, 2016 without incident and booked at the Washington County Jail on the following charges: Custodial Sexual Misconduct I (eight counts), Custodial Sexual Misconduct II (three counts), and Official Misconduct 1 (one count).

This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released without authorization from the Washington County District Attorney's Office.
