Ernest Gibbs, 87, of Manchester, KY, passed away Sunday, December 16th, at the Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Ernest was born in Corbin, KY on November 19, 1931, a son of the late Linda (Taylor) and Nathan Gibbs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen (Turner) Gibbs.
Ernest is survived by his daughter, Sandra Guthrie of Mason, OH; and by his two sons:Timothy Scott Gibbs of Barbourville, KY, and Jeffrey Wade Gibbs and wife Esther of London, KY.
Ernest is also survived by his sister, Louise Pruitt of Corbin, KY; by his brother, Enoch Gibbs and wife Sandra of Ashland, KY; and by 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his daughters, Debra Lynn Fisher and Denise Ann Rook; his brothers, Bill Gibbs and Willard Gibbs; and sister, Mary Gibbs.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 20th at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY, with Steve Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Cox Cemetery at Gray, KY.
