Mrs. Gene Middleton

Mrs. Gene Middleton Combs, 88, of Carter County, formerly of Winchester, passed away Monday at the Carter Nursing and Rehab Center in Grayson, KY.

She was born on January 25, 1928, in Clay County, KY, to the late George M. and Ida Sparks Middleton. She was a retired elementary school teacher in Clark County, member of the First United Methodist Church and Winchester Lioness Club.

She is survived by her son Don (Deborah) Combs of Grayson, KY, daughter Mary Ellen (Tom) Hunter of Winchester, KY, three grandchildren, Miranda (John) Harvey of Lexington, Matthew (Stacey) Dobbs of Winchester and Michael Dobbs of Murray, KY, five great-grandchildren, Calvin Harvey, McCoy Harvey, Landon Conn, Kylie Conn and Lincoln Dobbs.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Manley Combs and daughter, Linda Jill Combs.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 AM at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home in Winchester with Rev. Jeff Carter presiding. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5PM to 7 PM at the Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home.

Burial with graveside services will be Friday at 2 PM at the Middleton Cemetery in the Sextons Creek area of Clay County, KY, with Rev. Steve Crosby presiding. Pallbearers will be Matthew Dobbs, Michael Dobbs, Tom Hunter, John Harvey, Reuben Hacker and Don Combs.
