Mrs. Betty J. Mathis, age 64 of Burning Springs departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2016 at her home. She was born on Thursday, April 24, 1952 in Ohio to the union of Wesley and Dora Thompson Mills.
She was a retired teacher’s assistant for the Clay County Board of Education and a member of the Swindling Gap Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Jimmy Mathis, her daughter: Pamela Mathis and her fiancé Scott Robinson, her son: Luke Mathis and his wife Angie and her grandson: Dalton Mathis. Also surviving are her sisters: Loretta Dinkins and Joyce McQueen and her brother: Johnny Mills.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Wesley and Dora Mills, her sister: Barbara Bundy and her brother: Conley Mills.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Clay County Cancer Coalition.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty J. Mathis will be conducted on Friday, September 2 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be on Thursday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Rominger Funeral Home.
