Drug Arrests at Burglary in Progress complaint / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Capt. Kevin Berry along with Sgt. Brett Reeves, with assistance from Bailiff Roy Ball and Bailiff Paige Vanhook arrested two individuals on Friday morning August 2, 2019 at approximately 11:41 AM.

The arrests occurred off East Cumberland Gap Parkway, approximately 13 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to an apparent burglary in progress complaint there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies learned that a female subject had allegedly dropped a male subject off at a business off US 25W, and the male subject had traveled under a locked fence into a business there, and was located inside the fenced in area taking items from the business.

In addition, upon arrest the two individuals were found in possession of Meth, Suboxone, Xanax, Adavan, and Marijuana.

The two individuals arrested were identified as:

James F. Tankersley age 47 of London charged with:

  • Burglary – third-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance first-degree – first offense-Methamphetamine
  • Three counts of possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

 Amy Jo Henderlight age 48 of Corbin charged with:

  • Complicity to commit burglary – third-degree
  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Three counts of possession of a controlled substance – third-degree
  • Possession of marijuana

These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
