Multiple Felony Drug Arrests in Perry County, Arkansas

PERRY COUNTY, AR - The Perry County, Arkansas Sheriff’s Office is reporting that on Thursday, March 30, 2023 Deputy Jeremy Lawson was patrolling in the area of Highway 9 and Highway 216 when he made a traffic stop on a small red moped on Calf Neck Road for no license plate.

After Deputy Hunter Tindall arrived on scene to assist Deputy Lawson with the stop, they located multiple items of drug paraphernalia along with prescription medication and a white crystal substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

The 42-year-old Perryville man was transported to the Perry County Detention Center in Perryville where he was booked in on the charges of:

  • Poss. Of a Cont. Sub SCH IV
  • Poss. Of a Cont. Sub. SCH II Methamphetamine, class D felony
  • Poss. Drug Paraphernalia Methamphetamine, class D felony

On Saturday, April 1, 2023 Deputy Jeremy Lawson stopped a vehicle in the city limits of Bigelow for having an expired license plate.

During the stop Deputy Lawson located suspected Marijuana, suspected Methamphetamine, digital scales, and a 357 Glock handgun.

The driver of the vehicle a 39 year-old Houston woman was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance schedule VI
  • Possession of a controlled substance Methamphetamine more than 2oz, a class C felony
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, a class Y felony

The passenger a 32-year-old Bigelow man was also arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance
