FATAL CRASH TUESDAY IN BELL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

PINEVILLE, KY - The Bell County KY Sheriff's Department is reporting that: Tuesday night December 19, 2023, at 6:16 PM, Bell County Dispatch received a call of a serious accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

The Bell County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene to render aid and begin an investigation.

Bell County Sgt. Frank Foster, Chief Deputy Jared Smith, Deputy Austin Poindexter, Chaplain Rick Dorton, and Deputy Samson Churchwell, responded to assist Sgt. Foster.

Also on scene was Bell County EMS and the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department.

Through his investigation, Sgt. Foster determined that the male driver of the motorcycle was traveling on Old Bell High Road when he lost control of the vehicle, it skidded on its side and then collided with the passenger vehicle, catching fire.

The motorcycle driver, 43-year-old Jamie Wilder of Pineville, KY was administered CPR on scene but due to the nature of his injuries, died shortly after the incident.  He was pronounced deceased by Bell County Deputy Coroner Jason Steele.

The 18-year-old female driver of the car was not injured nor directly involved in the crash itself.
