TWO ARRESTS AFTER TRAFFIC STOP ON KENTUCKY 490 IN LAUREL COUNTY WITH ONE SUSPECT FLEEING BEFORE APPREHENSION

LONDON, KY - London PD is reporting that on Monday, January 8, 2024 at approximately 9:51 P.M., Officer Coty Arnold arrested Derrick Feltner, age 36 of London, KY and Jamane Riley, age 26 of London, KY.

Officer Arnold observed a vehicle on KY-490 having an equipment violation and conducted a traffic stop. Upon contact with the occupants of the vehicle, Officer Arnold requested their information.

It was determined that the operator, Derrick Feltner, and the passenger, Jamane Riley, both had active warrants for their arrest.

While Officer Arnold was placing Feltner under arrest and placing him in his patrol unit, Riley exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Officer Arnold gave chase and was able to catch up to Riley after he stumbled while fleeing. Officer Arnold gave, loud verbal command to Riley, but Riley refused to comply.

After a brief struggle, Riley was taken into custody without further incident.

Officer Arnold was assisted on scene by Deputy Nate Bishop and Deputy Skylar McFarland of the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.

Derrick Feltner was arrested on his warrant and additionally charged with:

  • Operating on a Suspended or Revoked License
  • Rear License Not Illuminated
  • Other minor traffic violations

Jamane Riley was arrested on his warrant and additionally charged with:

  • Fleeing or Evading Police - 2nd Degree (On Foot)
  • Resisting Arrest

Both Feltner and Riley were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
