Wanted Suspect Located and Arrested in Laurel County, Kentucky during Investigation of a Suspicious Vehicle in Middle of Roadway

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Matt Walker along with Deputy Tommy Houston and shift Sgt. Brett Reeves arrested Clayton Jones age 40 of Corbin on Friday morning February 23, 2024 at approximately 9:41 AM.

LSO logo Blackand Gold 200The arrest occurred off Laurel River Church Road, approximately 6 miles South of London after deputies received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the middle of the roadway there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies located a white Chevrolet Cruze and learned through investigation that the vehicle and driver were wanted regarding an unauthorized use of motor vehicle complaint.

The driver, Clayton Jones, was arrested. Deputies also learned there was an outstanding warrant on this subject.

Jones was transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.

Clayton Jones was charged with:

  • Unauthorized use of motor vehicle – first offense

In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Contempt of court

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
