(LONDON, KY.) - On Monday, March 23, 2015 at approximately 4:20 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a report of a fatal school bus collision involving a juvenile child. The collision occurred on KY HWY 779 in Whitley County.
Upon arrival, Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Trooper Craig Reed, determined that Amanda Woliver, 33, of Williamsburg, KY was operating a Whitley County School System 1999 International school bus when she stopped to let four (4) students off at a stop.
After dropping the students off Woliver began to drive away and somehow struck Jonathan A. Chatham, 10, of Rockhold, KY.
Chatham was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Whitley County Coroner's Office.
Alcohol and drug use is not suspected at this time.
Trooper Craig Reed is continuing the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Officers, Kentucky State Police Collision Analysis Officer Jerry Jones, Whitley County Sheriff's Office, Whitley County EMS and Woodbine Fire Department.
