Complaint of male subject laying in the roadway on Cliff's Edge Road in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested Cecil Jones age 41 of Taylor's circle, London early Sunday morning April 19, 2015 at approximately 3:41 A.M.

The arrest occurred off Cliffs Edge road, approximately 5 miles north London after Deputy Jackson was dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was laying in the roadway on Cliff's Edge Road.

When Deputy Jackson arrived at the scene he located a male subject in the vicinity that was walking down the road and upon being contacted was extremely nervous. When Deputy Jackson conducted an investigation on this subject, he learned after a check through the national crime information Center (NCIC) that this subject was a wanted fugitive from Arizona – wanted by the Arizona Corrections Agency for a parole violation regarding an original charge of domestic violence.

Arizona authorities advised they would extradite this subject back to Arizona.

Deputy Jackson learned from this individual that he had apparently ran his truck off the road in a ditch earlier on Cliff's Edge Road. This subject also advised that he had been laying in the road resting.

Deputy Jackson located this subject's truck and impounded it. Cecil Jones was charged with fugitive from another state and alcohol intoxication in a public place and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Constable Chris Webb assisted on the investigation and arrest.
