(Irvine, Ky.)- On May 13, 2015, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 7-Richmond and the FBI, arrested Alexander A. Ramos, 31, for charges related to distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
Ramos was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. This included videos of sexual acts involving children.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Ramos' residence on May 13, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
Ramos is currently charged with 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each count is a Class D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison.
Ramos was lodged in the Estill County Detention Center.
