(LONDON, KY.) – On Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at approximately 2:08 AM, KSP SGT Bill Elliotte stopped a 2014 Nissan Altima on I-75 around the 11 mile marker in Whitley County after receiving a complaint of and observing the vehicle reckless driving.
After a roadside interview was conducted, SGT Elliotte suspected the driver Dewayne T. Farmer, 30, of Richmond, KY was under the influence of drugs.
During a search of the vehicle, suspected methamphetamine was located along with drug paraphernalia and a stolen handgun.
Farmer was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
He was charged with DUI, Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Receiving Stolen Property ( Firearm ), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Suspended License and Resisting Arrest.
