DUI related crash leads to arrest in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Andrew Lawson arrested Nathan Davidson, age 24, of Poplar Hollow Rd., London, early Wednesday morning, September 23, 2015, at approximately 6:57 AM.

The arrest occurred at St. Joseph Hospital London as deputies conducted an investigation into an injury traffic crash which occurred on Barbourville Road after a Dodge Ram pickup went over an embankment, and where victims of the traffic crash left the scene prior to deputies arriving there.

Allegedly, Nathan Davidson left the scene of the crash, went to obtain another vehicle, and returned to the scene of the crash and picked up a female victim taking her to meet an ambulance on Barbourville Road where he dropped her off, apparently to avoid contact with law enforcement since he had been drinking prior to the crash.

This subject returned to the hospital in a different vehicle and attempted to flee law enforcement there, but was not able to.

An investigation was conducted on the driver – Nathan Davidson – who was determined to be under the influence and was arrested and charged with: operating a motor vehicle under the influence – 3rd offense; leaving the scene of an accident; driving on DUI suspended license – first offense; fleeing or evading police – second degree – on foot; resisting arrest, and other traffic violations and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Assisting on the investigation and arrest was Kentucky State police and London city police department. Assisting with the injured was Ambulance Inc. Of Laurel County.
