Sterling was driving west in a Toyota Avalon, when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with a Dodge Ram truck that was also traveling west, driven by William Hooper, 71 years old, of Lawrenceburg. As a result of the collision, the Dodge truck operated by Hooper travelled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
