(LONDON, KY.) – On Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at approximately 9:58 AM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call from the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office advising that they had received information as to the whereabouts of human remains located off Day Ridge Road in the Parkers Lake Community of McCreary County.
Upon arrival, KSP Detectives discovered human remains behind a residence in a wooded area. Preliminary investigation reveals the remains appeared to have been in that location for several months.
McCreary County Coroner, Tim Corder, was contacted and took possession of the remains. They will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to be examined by a forensic pathologist. Preliminary cause of death, time and identification of the deceased are unknown. Foul play is suspected.
KSP Detective Billy Correll is continuing the investigation. He was assisted by Troopers from Post 11, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, US Forest Service, McCreary County Coroner Tim Corder and the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office.
