Victim found dead in a Laurel County residence identified


Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Charlie Loomis is conducting a death investigation regarding the discovery of a deceased individual off Robinson Creek Road, approximately 10 miles south of London on Tuesday afternoon April 5, 2016 at approximately 4:00 PM.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene after residents of a home found a male subject with head trauma deceased in a back bedroom. An investigation is currently underway to determine the cause and manner of the death of the individual found there.

An autopsy will be conducted in Frankfort on Wednesday morning.

The victim was identified as Anthony J. Johnson age 30 of Robinson Creek Road, London, KY and was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling.

Assisting at the scene were: Detective Kevin Berry, Detective Jason Back, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter, Deputy Kyle Gray, and Deputy Brandon Broughton, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County and the Corbin Police Department.
