Update: KSP Conducts a Fire and Death Investigation in Lee County

(Beattyville, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called at approximately 5:06 a.m. EDT, on Tuesday, April 05, 2016, in reference to a multi-family residential structure fire at 255 Country Club Road in Lee County.

Investigators learned three people were unaccounted for. After an extensive search of the burnt structure three unidentified bodies were recovered. Autopsies are pending with the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office.

The Kentucky State Police will be performing a DNA test to conclusively determine the identity of the victims. The fire investigation will continue by KSP Arson Investigator Pat Alford.

The death investigation is ongoing by Detective Jesse Armstrong.

KSP Conducts a Fire Investigation in Lee County

(Beattyville, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called at approximately 5:06 a.m. EDT, on Tuesday, April 05, 2016, in reference to a multi-family residential structure fire on Country Club Road in Lee County. The scene is still active and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional news releases will be provided as more information comes available.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Arson Investigator Pat Alford. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Lee County Fire Department, and the State Fire Marshall.
