LPD ARREST MAN FOR LOCKING TWO CHILDREN IN THEIR BEDROOM AT NIGHT

LONDON KY—On the evening of May 4th London Police were notified of a complaint through dispatch about a parent locking their children in their bedroom at night.

Through investigation, Kenneth M. Martin, 26, of London was arrested.

Sgt. Randy Medlock visited the residence on Bill Mays Road and gained consent to look inside the residence. Officers observed a dead bolt lock upon bedroom door of their two children and advised Martin that it needed to be removed. Later officers returned to check on the children and discovered that the dead bolt had been removed—but the door was tied shut instead, with the children inside

Social Services were called to the residence for assistance and the children were removed from the home. The ages of the two children were three and eight-years-old.

Martin was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal abuse of a child (12 or under). He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
